COOL LINKS:

The following are some links you might find interesting or helpful.  Please check them out!

Florida Car Events:

Candy Girl's Cruisin Hour: You can hear Candy Girl on Oldies 108 -- Sarasota's hometown radio station -- every Saturday evening from 6 to 7pm. Get the latest news of upcoming car shows and cruises, listen to some great music, and find out where you can "meet the crew" in person at the various remotes they host in the area. The website contains photos of area events, and a well-maintained calendar of upcoming shows in Southwest Florida. When in Sarasota, be sure to listen to Oldies 108 -- WSRZ 107.9FM.
Collector Cars TV: Broadcast every Wednesday night on (Cable) Channel 21 in Sarasota, and presently expanding into other area markets -- check the website for an up-to-date schedule.  Lance, the host, and his guests cover car events in the Southwest Florida locale.  This website also has links to many area businesses that cater to the needs of car owners, along with vehicles for sale, and many other goodies -- lots of great information!

Vintage Radio Parts/Sources/Items Of Interest:

AntiqueRadios.com:  This is a tremendous resource for radio collectors!  This site is loaded with information about -- well, just about anything related to old radios and even early televisions.  There are forums as well as links to other sites.

Old Radio Parts.net:  This website is run by Mark Oppat in Michigan, who has been collecting and restoring old radios for many years.  He has a huge stock of radio knobs, both automobile and home type, as well as volume controls, reproduction dials, and many other hard-to-find parts for older radios.

Mark Palmquist's Website:  Originally hosted by Bill Turner, Mark is now offering dial covers and other parts/resources for vintage radio collectors.

Antique Airwaves:  This website is chock full of historical information and links.  Check it out for parts sources, services, literature, technical information, virtual museums, and collections of several radio hobbyists.

Grebe Radio Website:  This is about the best "official" website for old radios you can find, as it is run by Hank Grebe (Alfred H. Grebe III), descendant of the founder of the company.  Grebe (pronouced gree-bee) "Synchrophase" radios were very highly regarded back then, and are very collectible today.  This website contains lots of interesting information about the company.

OTRCAT:  We thought we had a pretty good collection of old time radio programming -- that is until we came across this website!  Do you like to hear big band music?  Suspense?  The Lone Ranger?  Amos 'n Andy?  What about hearing historic events reported as they were happening?  Literally thousands of hours of old time broadcasting are available right here, at a very reasonable price -- or, you can simply listen to samples of these broadcasts online for free!
SSTRAN:  For anybody with a personal radio collection, I HIGHLY ENDORSE this product!  It is the AMT-3000, a low power AM radio transmitter with GREAT performance!  Listen to your CD's, records, or even an FM tuner through any AM radio in the house!

Oldtech.net:  Brian McAllister's website contains technical information on several collectible radios.

Other:

Blue Line:  Okay, so this site is not quite related to cars or radios -- however the family that owns this store supports the cruisers in our community, and of course owns a few nice vehicles themselves -- and has been taking care of Tayman Electrical's business needs for years.  If you're in Southwest Florida and need anything in the way of office supplies, drafting tools, copying or printing, these people are eager to help.
